We had our semi-annual Family Picnic in the Park in March and were blessed with beautiful weather and friends from Abilene Christian University,
Southern Hills, Minter Lane, Hollygrove, and the neighborhood.
Current Update
Wednesday Night Dinner and Devo:
Our time together in the middle of the week helps each of us with our walk with God and each other as we share a meal together followed by some activity. Sometimes we break into small groups and pray together. Other times we’ll have a time of worship and praise. On the 3rd Wednesday of each month we have a Focused Family Meeting on single topic important to our church family life. You find, though, that regardless of the planned activity, we’ll often laugh, cry, sing, pray, and together give thanks to our merciful Father. It just seems to work out that way.
Small Groups:
During these difficult times of transition, we are acutely aware of our church family's need for encouragement, strengthening, and rebuilding ties with each other. Consequently, Small Groups have been reworked this fall to better serve each other and to help foster deeper relationships.
Meeting together in smaller groups is a time when we can minister to each other in meaningful ways in a more intimate but informal setting. Contact one of our elders or staff for information on where and when these groups are meeting.
Classes: We have enough temporary class room space now to allow us to have classes on Sunday morning. We are meeting every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for classes. High school and middle school classes meet next door in the "church house" while the younger children meet in the main building. Adults (it must be written somewhere) meet in the auditorium. The whole family gathers again at 10:30 a.m. for a time of worship, fellowship, and communion with each other and God.
We worked hard to "keep community" after Katrina through emails, web postings, and cell phones while we were scattered all over the country. Below are the update letters that were posted to keep everyone up to date on what was going on.
