No longer under the auspices of Carrollton Avenue Church of Christ's Eldership, Operation Nehemiah became a freestanding, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation in January 2007 and finalized the last details of the separation from Carrollton in April of 2007. It is now accountable to a board of directors led by Fred Franke.
